Iceland - the land of ice and fire - has been on our travel bucket list for a while. We loved everything that we had heard from fellow travellers - that it was family friendly, outdoorsy, laid back and had an amazing culture of coffee and swimming which are basically two of our favourite things. After a couple of vacations that involved 10+ hour flights in each direction, we were also interested in something a little closer to home.
We also thought Iceland seemed like a great place to bring our busy toddler who is obsessed with both being outside and swimming and the price of the flights sealed the deal: 250 dollars each to fly direct from Toronto to Reykjavik and then onward to our next destination - Belfast!
Iceland exceeded all of our expectations and we can't wait to return and explore more of what Iceland has to offer. If Iceland is on your bucket list as well, check out our posts below on how to make your trip a reality!
